I need help with internet advertising and knowing the instructions?
I don’ understand about link exchange, e-zines, I am very new to this but would like to get some advertizing out on the internet

Jerry Koh is wrong. E-zines and link exchanges are NOT a great way for “SEO”. E-zines can help a little, but article sites are overly abused.
If you want to learn about internet advertising, spend time reading the forums and blogs out there. Tons of resources.

I am starting a a business for fitness/nutrition consulting and offering a natural product line as well. I’d like to know if any of you have any recommendations for where/how to advertise on the net? Banner ads? Ezines? Other types?

If you are marketing other companies products (affiliate marketing) you could market your affiliate link in many free places. If you have an advertising budget then take the time to learn pay-per-click advertising, however yo will need to have your own website for PPC.
You could open a free Squidoo page to market your products.

Do you mean some secret way to advertise which no one else knows about because if they did there would be tens of thousands of people just like you trying to do the same thing because the recession affects everyone nationwide? That way? Is that what you mean?
Considering this is the internet where gossip travels faster than the speed of light because anyone can talk to anyone else who speaks their language in a heartbeat for free, if there was a big secret way to advertise your real estate agency for free, everyone else would know about it in about ten microseconds from the time it began and in about ten milliseconds the opportunity would be so saturated and so flooded that it couldn’t handle anymore netizens-looking-for-freebees traffic.
Now, I’m no expert on internet advertising but I would say Craig’s list is about as cheap as you’re going to get.
Sorry, but there’s a reason they say “times are tough” when times are tough. It’s because times are tough.

Its a small family owned and operated marina/high end boat dealership looking for clever out of the box ideas for promotions advertising and maketing to get us back on track anyone have any ideas?

Spring is your prime time to move boats. How about staging an on the water boat show featuring all the new models? You could make this an invitation only show for previous clients. Put on a nice spread for them. While they are being served do a short presentation displaying new features on the new boats. You could even do a short fireworks display for them to be a real attention grabber. not expensive at all. You get the drift.
