Are you bothered by the amount of advertising in society?

Advertising is everywhere – on tv, on radio, in movies, in subways, on the sides of buses, in public toilets, on billboards, on taxis, on blimps, on t-shirts, on posters, at music events, at sporting events, in mailboxes, in e-mails, on the web….. Do you ever get tired of people trying to sell you stuff?

Are shop owners in Scotland paid to have advertising on the front of their shops?

When I visit there I see “Kit Kat” and all kinds of other advertising along side the name of their shops; sometimes I can’t even see what the shop sells for all the ad signage the shops have.
I’m assuming the owners are paid so I’d like to know how much one store owner can earn, on average, in one year.
Seems like a good idea that should cross the Atlantic and save us here from all the huge erected signs and billboards that clog up our roadsides.

Does anyone else want to rip the head off of that little Geico gecko?

I’m tired of seeing it and hearing it. Seems like I can’t go 5 minutes and he’s either on the TV, radio, or advertising billboard. How much money is Geico spending on ads? Obviously, they don’t need to make any more money off of me.

Who manufactures the digital advertising billboards that are showing up on sidewalks, elevators, cabs, etc.?

Specifically, who manufactures the billboards that show video advertisements (Panasonic? Phillips? LG?). Also, what companies commercialize these billboards (e.g., ClearChannel, etc.)?
