What is your TOP 10 website promotion list?

My TOP 10 promotion list. What is your top 10?

1. Search engines.
2. Forums and Message boards are a great way to promote your link. Just put the link in your signature.
3. Use Free Ad Boards. for eg. http://BusinessFreeAd.com or http://ovgo.com These are boards that you can post a text ad free for a pre-determined period of time, usually 5 to 10 days. Then your ad expires and you are emailed the option to re-post your ad free for another cycle.
4. Free classifieds are a fast and easy way for you to start marketing, especially if you’re new to internet marketing. For eg. http://tumano.com , UsFreAds.com, etc
5. Pay per click (PPC) is now one of the most popular way to advertise in the Internet. Use Google Adwords, Yahoo! Sponsored Search, etc.
6. Social Bookmarking. Submit your links to social bookmark networks such as digg and del.icio.us
7. Use social networks such as facebook, myspace, linkedin, yuwie.com
8. Publish an E-Mail Newsletter. While it’s a big commitment in time, publishing a monthly e-mail newsletter (“ezine”) is one of the very best ways to keep in touch with your prospects, generate trust, develop brand awareness, and build future business.
9. Install a “Signature” in your E-Mail Program to help potential customers get in touch with you.
10. Write Articles for Others to Use in their Newsletters. One of the best means of marketing is by submitting articles to online article directories.

Nr.11 Register a domain and redirect the visitors. It’s a lot easier for people to find you if you have your own domain name rather than anonymousblog.blogspot. com. icon smile advertising free yahoo online advertising

George asks…

Do you also think that Google Home Biz is a scam?

So…I can’t believe that I fell in this trap but I did…so just to warn others. There are more posts related to this on Yahoo answers, but a little older…so I thought I would refresh the info. There are a lot of internet money making scams out there, but these people get better and better. They advertise on what it seems like legit websites, they say they will only charge you $1 for shipping fees and they put Google in their name to make it more credible. Anyway, after one pays the $1 then you can see if you look carefully on the bottom of the page, with very small letters, that they will charge you a membership fee of ~79 monthly. They never say anything about this before you pay. Below I pasted the e-mail confirmation I got from them…and it says something about a membership fee now, but still not how much it is. People apparently got charged the amount after 7 days without even knowing why. Anyway…right after I signed up for it I called the 1-800- number listed below and they cancelled my account. But still I’m worried about my credit card…I’ll have to watch it carefully!
So…be careful out there…all these internet money making websites are scam!

Yes, I also think it’s a scam (and I fell for it, too, because I wanted to learn more).

I was unable to reach them on the 646 number (“the offices are now closed”) but got through on the 800 number to cancel the account and got a cancellation confirmation number. However, I still don’t trust them and called the credit card company to replace the card I used — their practices sound too much like phishing.

Follow-up: I received the following confirmation e-mail from Billing Support (personal data removed):

Are there any websites that i can ADVERTISE my small business for free online?

i just started a small business and want to advertise my business online for free and have it actually SHOW UP on a search engine like YAHOO.

are there any WEBSITES you’d recommend that I try advertising in that are free.? any suggestions?

thanks

admin answers:

Start with Google maps. This is an effective way to get you on googles search engine. Yahoo will be incline to pick it up as well. You have to have a google account, on the front page you will see a business link in small writing. Once in there go to the map section. I did this for my son and his pokemon cards and it worked well. I would also recommend investing a little in Yellow pages ( Yellow Book) if you have a local business

admin answers:

How you advertise it online depends on what kind of business it is. If your small business happens on a local level – say landscaping, hair salon, cakes – then http://craigslist.org if for you. Select the location then advertise there.

If it is more of a national or international business the advertising mix is much different. You can still advertise on as many craigslist sites as you want for free. But…you can also write an article and submit it to press release sites like http://prweb.com Writing a blog about your product, and adding to it daily, will also help in search engine rankings (of the blog, not your business web site). Just keep mentioning your business web address in the blog. Further you can submit posts to other blogs. Also, try learning about search engine optimization (SEO) and tweek your site for better search engine results. You can learn a lot from http://searchenginewatch.com Also, with the article yyou wrote you can submit it to places that publish articles online.

Joseph asks…

Can someone give me a summary of this I dont understand it?

~ ADVERTISING PARTNERS ~
To maximize your marketing dollar, partnering with other advertisers is a good plan. Who are potential partners? Anyone who reaches the same target market that you do. Once you have determined this, you and your partner choose promotional strategies that will benefit both of you. In order to find suitable partners, the first step is to define your target market as specifically as possible. The more detailed you are in defining your customers, and deciding which customers to serve, will help you form better partnerships. The next step is to determine who else targets this same group of people. The products or services they offer may be complementary to yours, or they may not relate to each other at all. The key is that they reach the same market and that joint marketing with them makes sense. Step three is very important. Once you have identified several potential partners, look at them carefully. Are they companies and people that you would feel comfortable working with and being associated? Consider their reputations, goals, methods, etc. Do not lose your integrity for the sake of a sale. The next step is to approach the businesses with ideas on how you can work together to promote your own and each other’s businesses. This is when you must get creative. Your strategies will depend on the type of businesses that you and your partners have. Think of how your products and services can complement each other. You do not have to come up with a lot of ideas at once. Think of a few to approach new partners which show a clear benefit to the partners. You will want to keep the first joint promotions simple and geared for success. This will encourage your partners to continue the relationship. As you work together, you will come up with more ideas. Here are a few simple ideas to get you started— · if your business involves a party plan, give joint parties with a related business, for example, kitchen gadgets and food products, or children’s clothing and children’s books. · include your partner’s brochure with your customer’s orders – give your customers a small gift, gift certificate or coupon from your partner’s business with each order. · present a joint workshop or seminar. · include three partners in a special promotion. If customers make a purchase from 2 partners in a specific month, they receive a product from the third partner at no cost. Who can be partners? Just about anyone. Here are some of the more logical ideas. · realtors/home repair/home decorating · children’s books/children’s toys/children’s clothing · kitchen gadgets and utensils/any food product · accountants/financial planners/financial products · sporting goods/fitness clubs/fitness trainers · web designers/website hosts · graphic designers/web designers · copy shops/graphic designers/desktop publishing/business services · music stores/composers/music teachers · make-up/beauty consultants/beauty shops/massage therapists · antiques/furniture refinishers/interior designers You get the idea. I have given you some of the more logical partnerships. Do not limit yourself to these. If you have ideas for unique partnerships or any other marketing partnerships ideas, send them to me by e-mail. I will include them in a future article.

admin answers:

it’s difficult to give a summary for this because it’s not really in story form and the author keeps jumping from one topic to another. to help you out, i would suggest creating an outline by identifying main ideas. example,: (just copy paste as you see them first)

>Identify potential partners – anyone who reaches the same target market that you do
>choose promotional strategies
>define your target market as specifically as possible

THEN, arrange the ideas based on how they should go logically. for example, i would move the 3rd bullet up and and move down the second one because it’s logical that you know your target first before you can create promotions. you’ll also notice that there are repititions so you should delete one of them.

Ken asks…

Would you provide a copy of your credit card to a company?

I’m shopping online. They require a photocopy, or scanned copy of my credit card and my passport to verify my identity. While this seems excessive, it is somewhat reasonable.

I’m conducting the transaction internaionally, if that should hold any relevance.

This is what their policy says:
If you are a first time international customer or an existing international customer using a new credit card you must be verified prior to your order being shipped. Verification requires you to fax to (770) 333-4242 or email to sales@keh.com a copy of the front and back of the credit card, and your passport or drivers license along with your order number and telephone number.

the company is www.keh.com
They also share their information with third parties:
“Agents
We employ other third parties to perform services or functions on our behalf in order to improve our site, merchandising, marketing and promotional efforts, communications or other services. Those third parties include authorized contractors, consultants and other companies working with us (collectively, “agents”). They only have access to personal information needed to perform their functions, and may not share any personal information with others or use it for any other purpose than improving KEHs’ services and offerings.

Advertisers
We work with third party advertising companies, such as Google, Yahoo, Miva , etc. to serve and track our ads. These third parties may serve other cookies.

Third Party Sites
You may visit other web sites, through links on our site, who may collect, use and share your personal information in accordance with their own privacy policies. The information practices of those websites linking from or to our site are not covered by this Policy, and we encourage you to be very cautious before you disclose your personal information to others. It is possible that KEH could merge with or be acquired by another business entity. Should such an event occur, you should expect that KEH would share some or all of your information in order to continue to provide such products and services.”

What do you think? while reptuable, i’m skepticable.

admin answers:

I would.

1) Keh.com is a real company. They are well-established. If you do a whois search you will see that their website went up in 1995. As an established company they will likely have specific regulations about how to manage your information. For instance, they will have to destroy certain things. They can not keep them on file.

2) They’re asking for your personal information because you are asking for expensive camera equipment to be sent overseas. It’s sad, but there are many scammers who target merchants. Frauders will give them other people’s credit cards, the merchant sends the merchandise, only to find out that it was fraudulent. They therefore can’t get their merchandise back, the bank holds them responsible, and they absorb losses in the thousands of dollars. This is why they are asking for your information. it’s reasonable and yes, some companies do do this.
I would be more likely to send them my DL than my passport though.

Often companies will do name/address verification, so they’ll call the bank and confirm that the information they were given matcehs what is on the credit file. This is MUCH more common, but may be hard for them since you are overseas.

3) If you are concerned that an individual in the office might steal your information and use it for nefarious purposes, well, that’s a risk of doing business with anyone. Just like when you go to a store, there’s a chance that the clerk is skimming your card. That doesn’t mean that the company is fraudulent or scamming you. Just that one or two individuals within it may be.

At the end of the day, if there is fraud on your credit card, your bank will likely credit you. If you are concerned about identity theft, well. In the US (where I presume you are) it’s near impossible to open a credit card account without a SSN =, which you are not sending, so you are protected there too.

It’s up to you to decide if you want to provide the information, but I would, and I use to worked in fraud prevention, so I’m not ignorant of how fraud works. They are a real company and you can be fairly certain that they will follow proper procedures and destroy your information and not dispense it to third parties.

If you are still uneasy, don’t buy it and go to your local camera store.

Who is quitting smoking after this? Start stocking up on your empty packs of cigarettes?

all cigarettes will have to be sold in plain packets by the start of 2012 under a radical government plan to remove one of the remaining forms of tobacco advertising.A ban on distinctive packaging has been recommended by the National Preventative Health Taskforce, the Cancer Council and the Preventative Health Association. The laws will stop the use of industry logos, colours, brand imagery or promotional words. Brand names and product names will be permitted but must be in a standard colour, style and position. Health warnings will remain compulsory. The government will road-test designs so they are less appealing, especially to younger people.

Steven advertising advertising agencies

Steven asks…

I have some beautifull ideas for advertising agencies for ads purposes. To whom should I contact.?

I have very good ideas in my mind for the ads , like cold drink and insurance etc.Can I sell them, and what my next step should be?

admin answers:

Hi,

You can sell them. You can sell just anything on the internet. If it were in the days of slave trade, i tell you that human beings would also have been solved on the internet.

You said you have some good ideas for ads. That’s good. Now, have you defined and located target markets for your products? I suppose you have. But whether or not you have, here is what your next step should be: YOU HAVE TO SUBSCRIBE TO AN AUTORESPONDER!

But you should not subscribe just to any autoresponder. You should subscribe to an autoresponder that will increase your sales, reduce your overall marketing expenses, and get more done in less time.

Such an autoresponder should help you automatically generate targeted prospects, follow up with those prospects, and convert those prospects into paying customers. And there is just one autoresponder that can do all that. Besides using it to promote your business, you can make $1000′s promoting the autoresponder. And you can use it for 30 days FREE TRIAL, NO CREDIT CARD NEEDED.

Remember that while a website or blog is good to have, you do not actually need one to start an online business. With this autoresponder, you have everything to need to get started:

* Automated sales letters and follow up letters
* Contact management
* Leads generation
* Ads Tracking
* Capture pages
* And so on.
How to get this autoresponder? Follow the link below. Fill your name and email address under “How To Make REAL MONEY WIth AutoResponders” That’s it. Your training begins immediately.

P.S.
As empty and urgly as that blog looks, it makes the owner REAL MONEY online

admin answers:

There are good and bad people on all dating sites. Which dating sites did you join? Many of the dating sites allow free signups, and then you don’t have to pay unless you want to reply to someone who is interested in you. I think you need to try other sites. Go to http://www.webdatingguide.com for a list of dating sites. There is one that just have latina women on it.

Why whenever I’m online windows open till my computer freezes?

The other day I was serfing the net for a good tube (since youtube is getting rather anoying) One that I stumbbled upon caused a bunch of popups…. but the problem is now whenever I type somthing in a search engine a bunch of new windows open up with advertisment on that item.

Example: On yahoo search engine I type in “Puppies” then click on a website like “Puppyfind.com” Then all these windows open advertising pupppies! Buzznet, Find it.com, Ebay ect.

Now this has happend before, and I had to do a system restore. So I went to do a system restore… and ALL my restore points had been wiped right up to that momment my Laptop got infected!

I Dont know what to do now… I have pop up blocker and anti virus and anti spy ware all that stuff…

And please if you suggest a program please be sure it has a free trial because so many times I downloaded a program to fix a problem and it ends up not working and I waste my money.

Any help will be appriciated.
Just so everyone knows it is not a particular website that does this, it happens anywere on the net… whatever I am trying to look up I get bombarded by adds.
My anti-virus has SPYWARE I think this is a worm or adware.

admin answers:

it seems that you have a spyware/malware program installed in your system. that is the problem with “free” sites that offer videos, music, movies, etc. not all are legitimate. same thing with free anti-virus or anti-spyware programs. some of the free ones are actually designed to tell you there is something wrong with your computer when there is not and will tell you that the only way to fix it is to buy the full version of the program.

you should go to www.download.com. this is a legitimate site run by CNet. do a search for ad aware. go down to the actual list of items. do not click on the advertisements. download the program. install it, update it. restart you computer is safe mode (to do that, restart the computer and press “F8″ before windows starts to load. you will get a menu and select the option that says “safe mode”.) and run ad aware. make sure you select the full scan option. this may or may not fix your problem depending on the level of infection you have your other option is to do a full system restore from the original disk that came with the computer. this will ERASE EVERYTHING ON YOUR COMPUTER. but will leave it good as new.

you say you have a pop up blocker… if you have windows xp, you do not need one. its better not have one unless it came as part of another program. if your anti-virus is free, too old or expired, then it will do you no good. there is a popular anti-virus called AVG Anti Virus. although it is a good program, the free version does not have any active protection. which means, it does NOT automatically scan for viruses/spyware and prevents infection. it is designed for you to run every once in a while and then it will try to remove the virus. the only problem with that is that the virus could have already damaged your system.

hope that helps.

Have you noticed this question?

“What is the best way to make money online” Everytime I visit yahoo answers that question is always asked. Then later someone (maybe the asker using different username) will answer and he will give you a link to a website of a networking organization that will ask a one time fee as membership. Both the asker and the one pretending to answer just registered the same day. So can we report this? They are advertising their gimmicks for free. Its tempting, you know..making money..

admin answers:

I’ve seen it too many times. It continues “I’m very confused.” I think the question is a plant to allow the spam answer from on user who is always pushing a spam site. Of course the question does attract some honest answers. You can spot the spam answers. Last time I looked, that question was posted 19 times in 11 different areas. None of them appropriate for the question. I personally think it’s one person with several different accounts posting the question and then the answer. Most of these sites require referrals to get the “free” whatever. This is this persons way of getting the referrals, spam and more spam. I’d recommend reporting it every time you see it.

How to create my own free website?

I have created an online business for computing help. I do not plan on meeting anybody in real life or communicating via a phone. My business will be like Yahoo Answers but only for computers and I need to advertise it and I need to make a website but I don’t know how and what website to make it from. It feels strange that a computer expert needs to ask this question, but I do. I am going to advertise my website on each Yahoo Answers answer that I give. Maybe I might need a forum? What is best and how do I go about it.
